There is a lot of information on weather available on the web; the following are excerpts from certain sites. Basically, I've focused on the SF bay area, and am not showing info for any of the other regions.
Today's Forecast Today's San Francisco marine forecast, which is part of the San Francisco NOAA weater site. It contains oodles of information, but strangely no links to the NOAA weather maps (see below).
Analysis & Forecast Maps Each of the "map" tabs on the left contain the 500mB, Surface, as well as Sea-State analyses for the given day. The bitmaps are sized to permit printing in landscape mode, and are gray-scale. You can also find color versions on black background at the NOAA Marine Predictions site. However, they are a pain to print, so I've used the b&w versions here. Browsers will not always update the maps to the latest version if you have previously loaded the page, so do a REFRESH or RELOAD if the maps are out of date.
Buoys NOAA maintains a number of offshore buoys, which collect wind/wave/weather data. A website exists for each buoy, as well as some overview sites, etc.. Click on the 'Buoy Data' tab on the left to find out more. |
